Job Description – Structural Engineer (Civil) - Pune

Educational Qualification

- B.E./B.Tech – Civil Engineering – Mandatory.
- M.E./M.Tech – Structural Engineering – Preferred.

Experience

- 5–6 years of relevant experience in structural analysis and design.
- Experience in building, industrial, infrastructure, EPC, or similar structural engineering projects is preferred.
- Candidates with hands-on experience in both RCC and structural steel design will be preferred.

Job Summary

1. Structural Analysis & Design

- Perform analysis and design of RCC and structural steel structures.
- Design beams, columns, slabs, foundations, retaining structures, equipment foundations, and other structural elements.
- Carry out structural analysis for gravity, wind, seismic, and other applicable loading conditions.
- Develop structural framing systems that are secure, economical, and constructible.
- Perform static and, where required, dynamic/seismic analysis of structures.
- Review structural adequacy and optimize designs while maintaining safety and code compliance.

2. Design Calculations & Engineering Deliverables

- Prepare detailed structural design calculations, design reports, and technical notes.
- Prepare design basis, load calculations, structural models, and calculation sheets.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, BOQs, and other technical documents.
- Check structural drawings and reinforcement detailing for accuracy and compliance.
- Coordinate with drafting teams to ensure proper preparation of structural drawings and GFC deliverables.

3. Software Skills

The candidate should have hands-on experience with:

- STAAD.Pro
- ETABS
- SECURE
- AutoCAD
- MS Excel and MS Office

Knowledge of Revit/BIM, SAP2000, MIDAS or other structural software will be an added advantage.

4. Codes & Standards

Good working knowledge of applicable Indian Standards, including:

- IS 456 – Plain and Reinforced Concrete
- IS 800 – Structural Steel
- IS 875 – Design Loads
- IS 1893 – Earthquake-Resistant Design




- IS 13920 – Ductile Detailing
- IS 2911 – Pile Foundations, where applicable
- NBC and other relevant project/client specifications

Knowledge of international standards such as ACI, ASCE, AISC, Eurocodes, BS/IBC will be an advantage.

5. Coordination & Project Support

- Coordinate with architectural, civil, MEP, geotechnical, electrical, mechanical, and project teams.
- Review architectural layouts and provide structural inputs during the planning and design stages.
- Identify and resolve structural clashes and design discrepancies.
- Review soil investigation reports and incorporate geotechnical recommendations into structural design.
- Review contractor/vendor drawings, calculations, and technical submissions.
- Provide technical support to site/construction teams for structural issues.
- Conduct site visits when required and provide practical engineering solutions.

6. Quality & Project Delivery

- Ensure structural designs comply with applicable codes, specifications, safety requirements, and project standards.
- Carry out internal checking and peer review of calculations and drawings.
- Ensure engineering deliverables are completed within agreed quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
- Maintain proper documentation and revision control of engineering deliverables.
- Support senior engineers/project managers in resolving technical issues and meeting project deadlines.
