We are looking for a QA Engineer with strong accounting knowledge to ensure the quality of an accounting and finance module built into a multi-tenant SaaS platform. The ideal candidate must understand double-entry bookkeeping, ledgers, taxation, reconciliation and financial reports. Software testing experience can be at a beginner-to-mid level, but strong accounting judgement is mandatory. This is primarily a manual and functional testing role involving accounting validation, test-case preparation, defect reporting and release-readiness checks.

What we’re looking for

- Strong practical knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping
- Understanding of ledgers, trial balance, Profit and Loss, balance sheet and reconciliations
- B.Com, M.Com, CA-Inter, pursuing CA or CMA, or equivalent accounting experience
- Hands-on experience with Tally ERP 9 or TallyPrime
- Working knowledge of GST and TDS fundamentals
- Understanding of test-case design and the defect life cycle
- Beginner-to-mid-level software testing experience
- Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail
- Transparent written and verbal communication skills
- Curious and thorough approach to testing
- Ability to identify accounting discrepancies and explain them with evidence
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps or willingness to learn it quickly
- SQL knowledge for backend data verification is preferred
- API testing experience using Postman or Swagger is preferred
- Exposure to Selenium, Playwright or Cypress is an advantage
- ISTQB or a similar QA certification is preferred
- Experience testing SaaS or financial products is preferred

What you’ll do
- Prepare and maintain test cases for accounting and finance features
- Execute functional, integration, regression and User Acceptance Testing cycles
- Verify double-entry integrity and ensure debits and credits remain balanced
- Test ledgers, vouchers, account groups and the Chart of Accounts
- Validate receipt, payment, journal, sales and purchase entries
- Verify Trial Balance, Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet and cash or bank reports
- Validate GST and TDS calculations and invoice formats
- Test bank reconciliation and financial year-end closing processes
- Verify Tally exports and accounting reports
- Independently recalculate totals, taxes, balances and reconciliations
- Create positive, negative, boundary and edge-case testing scenarios




- Test rounding, backdated entries, configuration variations and unusual amounts
- Report reproducible defects in Azure DevOps
- Document expected-versus-actual results and the accounting impact of defects
- Verify resolved defects and perform retesting
- Coordinate with developers, the Product Owner and the reviewing Chartered Accountant
- Convert accounting rules into clear test conditions
- Own release-readiness sign-off for the accounting module
