Psychology & Founder Wisdom Research Intern
Punal Legacy Labs | Fully Remote
Punal Legacy Labs preserves the experiences, values and decision-making wisdom of family business founders, making this knowledge accessible and meaningful for future generations.
The Psychology Intern will support research and product development across founder behaviour, family business dynamics and intergenerational knowledge transfer. Working closely with the founder and product team, the intern will help translate founder narratives into structured insights for our Legacy Intelligence Platform, including LegacyDNA and the Decision Memory Vault.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct literature reviews on founder behaviour, leadership, decision-making, family business relationships and intergenerational learning.
- Help develop thoughtful, non-leading interview questions that explore founders’ experiences, struggles, values, relationships and critical business decisions.
- Assist with founder interviews and review recordings and transcripts to identify recurring themes, cultural context and lessons.
- Organise decision stories into their context, available options, reasoning, actions, outcomes and learning.
- Support the development of consistent research frameworks for documenting founder-stated values and decision patterns, linking observations to supporting interview evidence.
- Review AI-generated summaries and interpretations against source material, flagging unsupported conclusions or loss of context.
- Contribute to research reports, internal documentation and learning materials that help the next generation engage with founder wisdom.
- Handle founder and family information confidentially and follow agreed consent, access and data-handling procedures.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Psychology, Applied Psychology or a related behavioural science discipline. Postgraduate students are preferred.
- Foundational understanding of cognitive or social psychology, organisational behaviour, family systems or qualitative research.
- Ability to conduct structured literature reviews, organise research material and document findings clearly.
- Solid listening and interviewing skills, with patience, sensitivity and respect when engaging with founders and family members.
- Strong written and verbal English communication. Tamil proficiency is highly desirable for working with regional founder narratives.
- Familiarity with interviews, transcript analysis or thematic analysis is an advantage; basic quantitative research skills are welcome.
- Interest in entrepreneurship, family businesses, leadership, cultural values and the transfer of knowledge across generations.
- Comfort with digital collaboration tools and AI-assisted workflows, including checking outputs for accuracy.
- Ability to manage agreed tasks independently, communicate progress proactively and incorporate feedback.
- Commitment to confidentiality, research integrity and distinguishing documented evidence from interpretation.
- This is a non-clinical research and product development internship. The role is fully remote and requires reliable time management, regular team communication and participation in scheduled research reviews.
