Job DescriptionFashion & Graphic Designer — YODA Merch
NLocation: Mumbai
NType: Full-time
NYODA is creating a new clothing and merchandise brand with a solid point of view — premium, cool, slightly unexpected and made for people who care about animals without wanting to wear traditional "NGO merch."
NWe're looking for a Fashion & Graphic Designer who can help build this brand from the ground up.
NThis is not a role for someone who only makes graphics.
NWe want someone who understands clothing, fit, fabric, trims, graphics, embroidery, printing, sampling and production, and can take an idea all the way from a moodboard to a finished product.
NWhat you'll work on
nDesign and develop collections across:
N
n
- T-shirts and oversized tees
N
- Hoodies and sweatshirts
N
- Tracksuits and track pants
N
- Socks
n
- Caps and accessories
N
- Limited-edition drops
N
- Experimental / statement merchandise
N
nThe aesthetic should feel young, premium and fashion-first — sometimes minimal, sometimes quirky, but never generic.
NThink interesting placements, unexpected details, great typography, subtle animal references, embroidery, textures, unusual graphics and products people would genuinely want to wear even if they knew nothing about YODA.
NWhat you'll do
nCreate the visual language of the brand
NDevelop graphics, typography, illustrations, motifs, prints and placement ideas that make the collection instantly recognisable.
NDesign actual garments
NWork on silhouettes, colours, fabric choices, fits, washes, trims, embroidery, labels and detailing — not just artwork placed on existing T-shirts.
NDevelop collections
nTurn broad themes and ideas into cohesive seasonal drops and capsules with hero products and commercially wearable pieces.
NOwn sampling and product development
NWork closely with manufacturers and vendors on:
N
n
- Tech packs
n
- Fabric sourcing
N
- Printing techniques
N
- Embroidery
n
- Trims
N
- Colour matching
n
- Samples
N
- Fit corrections
n
- Quality control
N
nFollow products through multiple sample rounds until they are ready for production.
NBring unexpected ideas
NWe want someone constantly thinking:
NWhat would make someone stop scrolling?
NWhat detail would make this piece collectible?
NHow can an animal reference be cool rather than obvious?
NWhat could become our signature?
NWho we're looking for
nSomeone with approximately 3–7+ years of experience in fashion, streetwear, lifestyle apparel or premium merchandise.
NYou should have:
N
n
- Strong graphic design skills
N
- Excellent understandingof typography and placement graphics
N
- Experience designing apparel collections
N
- Knowledge of fabrics, garment construction and fits
N
- Experience working directly with manufacturers
N
- Understanding of printing, embroidery and garment-finishing techniques
N
- Ability to create tech packs and production-ready artwork
N
- Strong visual taste andawareness of global fashion and youth culture
N
- A portfolio that shows originality rather than repetitive commercial design
N
nExperience with Illustrator, Photoshop and relevant fashion-design software is expected.
NMost importantly
nWe are looking for someone with taste.
NSomeone who notices the difference between something that is merely nice and something people actually want.
NSomeone who can take a strange little idea — a tail coming out of a pocket, one unexpected word across a tracksuit, an embroidered animal detail hidden inside a sleeve — and turn it into something fashionable.
NThe ambition is to build a real clothing brand, not an NGO merchandise line.
NIt should have the quality, design language and desirability to stand on its own.
NAnd every product should ultimately help YODA do more for animals.
