About the Role

OpenSource Technologies (OST) is looking for a skilled Creative Designer to work with us on a part-time, hourly basis.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in web and mobile UI design, with a good eye for clean, modern, and user-friendly interfaces. You will work closely with our development and marketing teams to translate business and project requirements into visually engaging, responsive designs.

This role is well suited for an experienced designer who is comfortable working independently, handling multiple requirements, and delivering quality work within agreed timelines.

Responsibilities

- Design clean, modern, and responsive web, mobile, landing-page layouts, and other designs as per project requirements, from initial concepts/wireframes to high-fidelity designs.
- Create user-friendly UI designs aligned with project and business requirements.
- Develop and maintain consistent visual styles and design systems across platforms.
- Collaborate with product, development, and marketing teams to translate requirements into effective design solutions.
- Understand feedback and iterate designs within agreed timelines.
- Prepare developer-ready design files and assets with appropriate specifications.
- Ensure designs are responsive and provide a consistent user experience across different screen sizes.
- Support visual/graphic design requirements wherever required.
- Communicate clearly with internal teams and, where required, support client/project-related design discussions.

Requirements





- 3+ years of hands-on experience in web and mobile UI/UX or visual design.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating web and mobile UI design work.
- - Excellent hands-on expertise in Figma Dev Mode, Zeplin, or similar developer handoff tools, ensuring smooth and accurate transition of designs to the development team.
- - Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator for supporting visual/graphic design requirements.
- Valuable understanding of responsive design principles, typography, spacing, colour, usability and design systems.
- Understanding of design handoff and the ability to provide developer-ready files/assets.
- Ability to understand requirements, work independently, and deliver within agreed timelines.
- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a remote/async work environment.
- Comfortable working on a part-time, hourly basis based on project requirements.
- - Comfortable using AI tools to improve design ideation, productivity, and creative workflows, while maintaining design quality and consistency.

Good to Have

- Excellent hands-on expertise in Figma Dev Mode, Zeplin, or similar developer handoff tools, ensuring smooth and accurate transition of designs to the development team.
- Experience designing for IT services, software products or technology companies.
- Prior experience working with US/UK clients or distributed teams.
- Previous part-time/freelance experience.
