Role Description The Commis 1 chef is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai, working as part of the core kitchen team for a Food, Gelato and Cocktail bar concept in Fort, Mumbai. . The role involves preparing ingredients, assisting in cooking and plating dishes according to established recipes, and maintaining food quality and presentation standards. Daily responsibilities include following food safety and hygiene protocols, organizing workstations, and supporting senior chefs during service.

The Commis 1 chef helps with ordering, receiving and storing supplies,



minimizing food waste, and ensuring the kitchen is clean and orderly before, during, and after operations. The position requires active participation in menu preparation, tasting sessions, and continuous learning of new techniques and kitchen procedures.

Qualifications

- Practical experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in a restaurant or hotel environment.
- Foundational culinary skills, including basic cooking methods, knife handling, and ingredient preparation.
- Understanding of food safety, hygiene standards, and proper storage procedures.
- Ability to follow recipes, portion guidelines, and plating instructions consistently.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and time management abilities in a fast-paced setting.
- Willingness to learn from senior chefs, accept feedback, and develop new skills.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as required by restaurant operations.
- Formal culinary education or certification is an advantage but not mandatory.
