Key Responsibilities

- Lead application security assessments and architecture reviews for cloud-native applications, APIs, microservices, Kubernetes workloads, and serverless technologies.
- Partner closely with application owners, developers, DevOps engineers, cloud engineering teams, and business stakeholders to identify security risks and recommend; and to understand requirements, investigate issues, and communicate technical solutions clearly.
- Review application designs, data flows, authentication mechanisms, API integrations, and cloud architectures to ensure alignment with security best practices.
- Take ownership of assigned initiatives and drive them to completion with minimal supervision.
- Support and advise on Web Application Firewall (WAF) technologies, bot protection, API protection, and application-layer security controls.
- Participate in technical discussions and troubleshooting calls with different stakeholders.
- Take ownership of assigned tasks and drive them through to completion with minimal supervision.
- Follow established change management and operational processes.
- Support cloud networking and security environments across AWS and/or Azure.
- Proactively identify potential issues and recommend improvements to the environment.

Required Qualifications

- 7+ years of experience in Application Security, Network Security, Cloud Security, DevSecOps, Security Architecture, or related cybersecurity disciplines.




- Robust understanding of modern application architectures including:

Web applications
- APIs and microservices
- Containerized applications
- Kubernetes/OpenShift
- Serverless technologies
- Cloud-native architecture.

- Intermediate knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, routing, DNS, and network connectivity.
- Hands-on experience securing applications deployed in AWS and/or Azure cloud environments.
- Good understanding of firewall functionality, including: Stateful vs. stateless firewalls
- Firewall rules and policies
- Network traffic flows
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to:
- Clearly understand technical issues described by non-technical stakeholders.
- Ask relevant questions to identify the root cause of an issue.
- Explain technical concepts and proposed solutions clearly.
- Collaborate effectively with application, business, and infrastructure teams.
- Proactive and accountable mindset — able to take ownership of tasks and see them through to completion.
- Familiarity with AWS and/or Azure cloud environments.

Desired / Nice-to-Have Skills

- Azure Web Application Firewall (WAF)
- Akamai
- ServiceNow, particularly experience with the Change Management process
- Wiz / cloud security posture management
- Experience with cloud networking and security controls
- Experience troubleshooting production network and security issues
