CAD & Python Specialist – CadQuery

Location: Remote — open to candidates worldwide

Rate: Up to US$14 per hour

About the Role

We are looking for a specialist with strong 3D CAD modelling skills and hands-on experience writing Python code using CadQuery. You will translate design requirements into accurate, parametric 3D models and develop reusable scripts to generate and modify CAD geometry.

Key Responsibilities

Create parametric 3D models using Python and CadQuery.

Interpret technical drawings, dimensions, and written specifications to develop accurate models.

Write, review, debug, and improve CadQuery scripts.

Ensure models remain valid when dimensions and parameters change.

Validate geometry, units, dimensions, and specified tolerances against design requirements.

Maintain transparent, modular, documented code and export models in appropriate formats, including STEP and STL.

Required Skills and Experience

Strong understanding of 3D CAD modelling, including sketches,



workplanes, extrusions, revolves, fillets, chamfers, and Boolean operations.

Proficiency in Python and practical experience building models with CadQuery.

Ability to translate design intent into structured, parametric modelling logic.

Experience diagnosing and resolving geometry errors and failed modelling operations.

Ability to read technical drawings and understand dimensions, units, and tolerances.

Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Good to Have

Experience with FreeCAD, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar CAD tools.

Familiarity with mechanical component design and assemblies.

Experience with CAD automation, version control, and automated model validation.
