Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Engineer role based in Chennai. The engineer will design, develop, and deploy AI/ML models that power Nexon Education’s recommendation and matching platform for global universities and colleges. Day-to-day responsibilities include gathering and preprocessing data, experimenting with algorithms, training and validating models, and integrating them into production systems in collaboration with the engineering team.

The role also involves optimizing model performance, monitoring live systems, and refining models based on user feedback and business metrics.



The engineer will work closely with product and domain experts to translate student and parent needs into scalable, reliable AI solutions that improve accuracy, speed, and transparency of the study-abroad advisory process.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong skills in machine learning and AI, including model development, training, evaluation, and deployment.
- Candidates should possess skills in data handling and analytics, such as data preprocessing, feature engineering, and working with structured and unstructured datasets.
- Candidates should possess software engineering skills, including proficiency in programming languages commonly used in AI/ML (e.g., Python), version control, and API integration.
- Candidates should possess skills in working with ML frameworks and tools (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, SQL/NoSQL databases, and basic cloud or MLOps tools).
- Candidates should possess strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to design experiments, interpret results, and iterate on solutions.
- Relevant qualifications include a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Beneficial experience includes prior work in edtech, recommendation systems, or data-driven platforms, and familiarity with deploying AI solutions at scale.
- Candidates should possess effective communication and collaboration skills and be comfortable working in a quick-paced startup environment.
