Phlebotomist Job Profile

Location: Hospital
Department: Laboratory / Diagnostics

Key Responsibilities:
Collect blood samples from patients as per prescribed tests and procedures.
Verify patient identity and ensure proper labelling of samples.
Perform venipuncture and other blood collection procedures safely and professionally.
Handle and transport collected samples to the laboratory as per SOP.
Maintain proper documentation and records of sample collection.
Follow infection control, hygiene, and biomedical waste management protocols.
Ensure patient comfort and address patients politely during the blood collection process.
Coordinate with doctors, nurses, laboratory staff, and other hospital departments.
Maintain cleanliness and availability of blood collection equipment and consumables.
Follow all hospital policies, laboratory SOPs, and safety guidelines.

Requirements:
DMLT / Relevant Phlebotomy or Healthcare Qualification preferred.
Experience in blood collection and sample handling.
Positive communication and patient-handling skills.
Ability to work rotational or night shifts, as required.Role & responsibilities
