Role & responsibilities
Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting for US and Canadian clients.
Work hands-on with QuickBooks Online (QBO), Xero and Dext.
Categorize, review and post accounting transactions accurately.
Perform bank and credit-card reconciliations.
Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
Process and review invoices, bills and supporting documents.
Investigate discrepancies, unusual transactions and reconciliation issues.
Assist with month-end closing and financial reporting.
Prepare and review financial statements.
Maintain accurate and organized accounting records.
Identify missing information and follow up with clients.
Communicate directly with US and Canadian clients through email, Zoom/Teams and other channels.
Explain accounting issues and requirements clearly and professionally.
Follow company SOPs and quality-control procedures.
Meet client deadlines and manage multiple assignments effectively.
Identify potential issues proactively and recommend appropriate solutions.
Escalate complex accounting matters with proper analysis and supporting information.




Take ownership of assigned client accounts and ensure accurate, high-quality work.

Preferred candidate profile
2+ years of practical accounting/bookkeeping experience
Strong knowledge of accounting fundamentals
Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online, Xero and Dext
Prior experience handling US or Canadian clients is preferred
Experience in an accounting/CPA firm is an advantage
Valuable understanding of bank reconciliations, AP, AR and month-end close
Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills
Excellent spoken and written English
Comfortable with direct client communication
Robust analytical and problem-solving skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Able to work independently and take ownership of assigned work
Capable of investigating issues before escalating them
Qualified, proactive and willing to learn
Able to manage multiple clients, tasks and deadlines
Immediate joiners or candidates with a short notice period preferred
