Role & responsibilities
Work with other subject matter experts and stakeholders from the business
Draft/update recent IFRS and US GAAP accounting technical guidance for both internal firm guidance and external publications
Monitor and stay current on IASB and FASB project developments
Contribute (along with other team members/senior managers/ US national office team) to researching/writing technical accounting guidance and examples
Assist US national office team in preparing illustrative financial statements
Assist with the ongoing maintenance/improvement of information structure on internal website that captures firm technical guidance
Present on technical accounting matters at US national office team meetings and on external-facing webcasts/podcasts
Work experience
Recent and extensive experience in applying/implementing IFRS accounting standards and US GAAP are required 6 to 8 years of post-qualification experience in Big 4 national office or similar function (e.g. Capital Markets Group or serving large/complex clients) •Experience in conducting external audits in accordance with ISAs/US GAAS would be beneficial
Skills Needed
IT savvy, including extensive experience with Microsoft Excel and Word. Should be proficient in MS Power Point to create effective presentations. Additional exposure to/knowledge of other IT applications (e.g. MS Teams, SharePoint) would be beneficial
Excellent project management skills, particularly managing stakeholders expectations and proactively communicating issues, solutions and progress
Excellent oral and written communication skills and effective upward management and cross team communication
