Key Responsibilities:
Compliance Oversight: Review and finalize monthly and annual GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, and GSTR-9C). Ensure accurate and timely payment of taxes.
Advanced Reconciliations: Manage complex Input Tax Credit (ITC) optimization strategies. Resolve persistent vendor mismatches and manage reversals under GST rules.
Advisory & Representation: Analyze amendments, circulars, and notifications in GST laws to assess their impact on business operations. Draft replies to GST notices and represent the organization during routine departmental audits.
Process Improvement: Standardize accounting processes to ensure smooth data flow into GST portals. Implement automation or updates in ERP systems (SAP) to align with changing tax laws.
Team Management: Guide,
train, and review the work of junior tax associates and accountants.
Potential candidate must have:
4 to 7 years of experience in indirect taxation, GST in a corporate tax department in a manufacturing industry.
In-depth knowledge of GST laws, rules, valuation mechanisms, and classification (HSN/SAC codes).
Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and robust working knowledge of SAP is must.
Solid analytical, communication, and drafting skills to interact effectively with internal stakeholders and tax authorities.
