We are looking for a Senior Internal Bookkeeper to maintain our financial records, including bank transactions, VAT & payroll, and to take ownership of management account preparation and year-end processes.
On a typical day as a Senior Internal Bookkeeper, you will be:
Doing general bookkeeping for our internal finance team
Handling periodic high transaction volume periods
Recording financial transactions
Maintaining accounts and managing the journal process
Reconciling bank statements
Preparing management accounts
Leading year-end preparation
Using sound judgement to resolve non-obvious transactions and situations
Updating GSheets
Desired profile
At least 3 years of bookkeeping experience in a high transaction volume setting
Worked at either at an accountancy/bookkeeping firm or in an internal finance function at a company
Strong experience with journal management
Experience preparing management accounts
Experience and understanding of deferrals and accruals
Experience with year-end preparation
Good understanding of UK and IE or EU VAT
Excellent judgement to resolve non-obvious transactions and situations
Experience with Xero, QuickBooks, or any other bookkeeping software
Experience with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
Ability to prioritize a busy workload and meet challenging deadlines
Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills
Good IT skills, particularly in the use of online accounting software
Organized, with a thorough, methodical approach to their work
Excellent English communication skills
Ability to work as part of a team
