A Housekeeping Team Leader supervises daily cleaning operations, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction. They assign tasks to room attendants, inspect guest rooms and public areas, manage inventory/stock levels, train staff, and coordinate with maintenance and front office departments for seamless service.
Key Responsibilities
Supervision & Inspection: Inspect guest rooms and public areas to ensure brand standards are met.
Team Leadership: Train, motivate, and schedule housekeeping staff (room attendants and house attendants).
Operational Management: Assign tasks, manage daily shift rotas, and handle the inventory of cleaning supplies and linens.
Guest Service: Address guest complaints and special requests efficiently.
Maintenance & Safety: Report maintenance issues immediately and ensure all health and safety procedures are followed.
Collaboration: Act as a liaison between housekeeping, front office, and maintenance to ensure productive room turnover.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
Previous housekeeping experience (often 2+ years) with previous supervisory experience preferred.
Leadership: Robust ability to motivate, lead, and train a team.
Communication: Excellent communication skills to interact with guests and staff.
Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physical tasks like walking, standing, and lifting during the shift.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to cleaning and sanitation.
Time Management: Capable of prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
