We are looking for a Data Lead to own data architecture and solutioning for AWS-based data platforms. This role is responsible for designing how data flows from ingestion through transformation to consumption, using up-to-date transformation and orchestration tooling (such as dbt, Airflow, or equivalent), and for making the underlying technology choices.

This is equal parts hands-on data architecture and stakeholder-facing solutioning: you'll design end-to-end data solutions, defend those decisions in architecture reviews and proposals, and translate ambiguous business requirements into concrete, defensible technical designs.

Own end-to-end data Solutioning selecting the right services and patterns for each use case
Lead solutioning and architecture discussions with business stakeholders and clients, translating requirements into technical designs
Define data ingestion, ETL/ELT, and pipeline strategies from internal and external source systems
Design and govern the data transformation and orchestration layer using tools such as dbt, Airflow,



or equivalent
Define data governance, security, lineage, and access control patterns across environments
Partner with application, analytics, and AI/ML teams on how they consume and query data
Produce and present architecture diagrams, trade-off analyses, and technical proposals to leadership and clients
Identify data gaps against business requirements and recommend sourcing or integration strategies
Guide cost optimization and performance tuning across the data platform
Mentor and provide technical direction to data engineers

Experience
8–10 years in data engineering including at least 3+ years in a solutioning, architectureMerc
Demonstrated experience designing and delivering data architectures on AWS in production
Experience presenting architecture decisions directly to clients or senior stakeholders
Cross-industry experience is a plus
