Role OverviewWe're looking for three Observability Engineers to design and implement application- and process-level observability for Oracle Watchlist Screening (OWS). You'll build the dashboards, alerts, notifications, and anomaly-detection capabilities that let Engineering know — in real time — whether critical screening processes and their supporting integrations are healthy.Minimum Qualifications5+ years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, application monitoring, or observabilityHands-on experience with Oracle Watchlist Screening (OWS)Proficient in Python, TypeScript, Java, or a similar programming languageExperience working with databases, APIs, data pipelines, and system integrationsStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and technical documentation skillsAble to work hours that overlap with US Pacific Time stakeholdersResponsibilitiesMonitor real-time and batch screening volumes, throughput, failures, retries, backlog, and latencyIdentify failed or long-running screening activity and processing bottlenecksMonitor Dow Jones file processing for data freshness, completeness, and ingestion failuresTrack data as it moves through standardization, tokenization, clustering, business rules,
and screening readinessMonitor OWS integrations with SFDC, Pelican, Snowflake, and other prioritized applicationsMonitor alert creation, status changes, aging, disposition, and closureBuild executive and operational health dashboardsDefine SLIs, SLOs, baselines, thresholds, and severity levels with EngineeringConfigure notifications for critical failures, processing delays, data issues, and integration failuresDocument dashboards, metrics, alerts, system gaps, and operational processesComplete production validation, knowledge transfer, and final handoffOut of scope: AWS infrastructure monitoring (server uptime, CPU, memory, disk, network).Primary Skills (Must-Have)Oracle Watchlist Screening (OWS)Application & process-level observability / monitoringDashboard and alert developmentPython, TypeScript, or JavaData pipelines, APIs, and system integrationsAnomaly detectionTroubleshooting distributed applications and data integrationsSecondary Skills (Preferred)Salesforce (SFDC)SnowflakeDefining SLIs/SLOs and monitoring baselinesTechnical documentation and runbook authoring
