Infocognitics is seeking a talented Mathematics tutor to join their platform to deliver world-class Mathematics education to students based on the US K-12 curriculum. We require teachers with proficiency to teach Grade 5 to 11 Mathematics including core mathematics, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, AP Pre-Calculus and SAT Mathematics. Please note that this requisition is not for more advanced subjects such as Calculus AB, Calculus BC, Statistics, AP Statistics, etc.

Qualities we are looking for:

(1) Deep and proven expertise in Mathematics
Strong academic grasp of subject demonstrable by educational track record such as M.Sc. (Mathematics) or equivalent

(2) Solid understanding of Mathematics curriculum
Possess keen understanding of Math curriculum structure, topics and their interconnections. Knowledge of US K-12 curriculum standards (such as TEKS, Common Core), CollegeBoard/AP Curriculum and SAT Mathematics curriculum is a significant plus for the candidate

(3) Passion for teaching

Proven track record of teaching in schools or tutoring (especially online), with experience across students with varied abilities. Demonstrable patience and skill in teaching in a manner that motivates and improves student outcomes irrespective of student’s abilities

(4) Thoughtful approach

Ability to deliver most efficient and effective learning in every tutoring session by determining student’s key learning gaps and tailoring the session to a particular student

Our hiring model

Individual selected for the job will be initially hired on a part-time basis with potential to convert to a full-time salaried position based on performance and company need.

Primary locations: Tiruchirappalli, Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Vellore

Requirements for US time-zone:

- Part-time role is fully remote, providing you flexibility to work from home
- You can decide how many hours to work and when to work during Available Working Hours

Tue – Sat (5 days): 2:30am IST to 1:30pm IST, Sat – Sun (2 days): 4:30pm IST to midnight IST, Sun – Mon (2 days): midnight IST to 1:30pm IST
- Must regularly update our tutoring platform with your available timings for current and next week in order to get bookings

Online tutoring expectations:

- Only use company platform for sessions. No personal solicitation allowed
- Should be able to provide a quiet noise-free environment for each session
- Video camera needs to be turned on. Professional attire is necessary. Background can be blurred
- Must maintain a strong internet connection
- All sessions are recorded for students and platform benefit

Compensation:

Successfully completed sessions will be paid at the following rates by subject. Payment will be monthly:

- Subjects below Algebra 1 level – Rs. 200 per hour
- Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus – Rs. 250 per hour
- AP Pre-Calculus – Rs. 300 per hour
- SAT Mathematics – Rs. 300 per hour
