Job Description: Senior Quality Engineer – PDI Car Body Inspection

Experience:15+ years of experience in the manufacturing industry, with strong expertise in welding and car body quality inspection.

Educational QualificationBachelor's Degree (B.E./B.Tech.) in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, or Production Engineering.

Certifications

- International Welding Engineer (IWE) certification preferred.
- EN Certified NDT Level II in:

o Visual Testing (VT)

o Penetrant Testing (PT)

Preferred Industry Background

- Rail manufacturing, rolling stock, or rail car body manufacturing.
- Candidates with hands-on experience in rail car body inspection will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) of complete rail car bodies to ensure compliance with customer specifications and quality standards.
- Conduct comprehensive visual inspection of car body structures, welds, and assembled components.
- Inspect welding quality as per approved welding procedures, drawings, and applicable standards.
- Verify weld integrity using Visual Testing (VT) and Penetrant Testing (PT) techniques.
- Inspect and validate joint sealing, sealing quality, and finishing to ensure water-tightness and aesthetic requirements.
- Carry out full car body inspections covering dimensional, cosmetic, structural, and functional quality aspects.
- Identify, document, and report quality defects, deviations, and non-conformities.
- Coordinate with production, welding,



and engineering teams for defect rectification and closure.
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications, quality procedures, and relevant international standards.
- Maintain inspection records, reports, and quality documentation.
- Support customer inspections, audits, and final acceptance activities.

Required Skills & Competencies

- Strong knowledge of welding processes, weld defects, and welding quality standards.
- Hands-on experience in weld inspection and NDT (VT/PT).
- Expertise in car body inspection, joint sealing inspection, and final quality verification.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols, and technical specifications.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Pay: ₹1,000,000.00 - ₹1,800,000.00 per year
