Job Title: Garments Finishing In-Charge

Location: Garment Manufacturing Unit

Job Summary

The Garments Finishing In-Charge is responsible for managing and controlling all finishing activities from the receipt of garments from the sewing department through final inspection and packing. The position ensures that garments meet the required quality standards, measurements, appearance, packing requirements, and customer specifications while achieving production targets and shipment deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

1. Finishing Production Management

- Plan and manage daily finishing production according to the production schedule.
- Ensure garments are received from the sewing department as per the planned quantity and schedule.
- Allocate manpower and workstations effectively.
- Monitor daily production output and ensure finishing targets are achieved.
- Coordinate with sewing, quality, merchandising, and packing teams to avoid production delays.

2. Garment Finishing Operations

Supervise and control all finishing processes, including:

- Thread trimming
- Loose thread removal
- Spot/stain removal
- Ironing and pressing
- Measurement checking
- Garment folding
- Label and tag checking
- Needle and metal detection, where applicable
- Final appearance checking
- Polybagging
- Carton packing

3. Quality Control

- Ensure finished garments meet approved samples, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Identify defects such as stains, oil marks, loose threads, wrinkles, pressing issues, measurement deviations, and workmanship defects.
- Ensure defective garments are segregated and sent for correction.
- Work closely with the Quality Department to reduce rejection and rework.
- Monitor recurring finishing defects and implement corrective actions.

4. Measurement & Specification Control

- Ensure finished garment measurements are within the approved tolerance.
- Verify critical measurements before packing.
- Ensure correct size, colour, style, and quantity are maintained.




- Check that approved finishing standards are followed for each style.

5. Packing & Shipment Preparation

- Ensure garments are packed according to buyer/customer packing instructions.
- Verify size-wise, colour-wise, and style-wise quantities.
- Ensure correct labels, tags, stickers, barcodes, and packing materials are used.
- Coordinate with the packing and dispatch teams to complete shipments on time.
- Ensure cartons are properly packed, sealed, marked, and ready for dispatch.

6. Manpower Management

- Allocate workers according to workload and production requirements.
- Monitor worker productivity and attendance.
- Train workers on proper finishing methods and quality standards.
- Maintain discipline and ensure safe working practices within the finishing section.

7. Production Planning & Reporting

- Prepare and maintain daily finishing production reports.
- Track input, output, rejection, rework, and pending quantities.
- Monitor production against daily and monthly targets.
- Highlight bottlenecks and delays to the Production Manager immediately.
- Maintain records of finishing and packing activities.

8. Coordination

- Coordinate with the Sewing Department regarding garment availability.
- Coordinate with the Quality Department regarding inspection and corrections.
- Coordinate with Merchandising regarding customer-specific requirements.
- Coordinate with Stores regarding packing materials and accessories.
- Coordinate with Dispatch regarding shipment priorities.

9. Productivity & Cost Control

- Improve finishing productivity and reduce unnecessary handling.
- Minimize rework, rejection, and wastage.
- Ensure efficient utilization of manpower, machines, and materials.
- Suggest process improvements to improve finishing efficiency.

Working Conditions

- Full time position in a garment manufacturing facility.
- Requires regular presence on the production floor.
- May require extended working hours during urgent production or shipment schedules.
- Close coordination with multiple departments is required.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
