Job Summary

We are looking for a compassionate, patient, and dedicated Shadow Teacher to provide one-to-one support to our son during school hours in Kaduthuruthy.

The Shadow Teacher will work closely with the child, class teachers, parents, and, where applicable, therapists or special educators to support his academic learning, classroom participation, communication, social interaction, behaviour, and overall development.

The primary goal is to help the child participate comfortably in school while gradually developing independence and confidence.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide one-to-one support to the child during school hours.
- Help the child understand and follow classroom instructions.
- Support attention, concentration, and participation in classroom activities.
- Assist with academic tasks, worksheets, assignments, and other school activities.
- Encourage communication and positive interaction with teachers and classmates.
- Provide appropriate behavioural and emotional support.
- Follow strategies recommended by parents, teachers, therapists, or special educators.
- Monitor and communicate the child's daily progress to parents.
- Coordinate professionally with teachers and school staff.




- Encourage the child to become more independent rather than becoming overly dependent on the shadow teacher.
- Ensure the child's safety and well-being within the school environment.

Candidate Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Special Education, Education, Child Development, Social Work, or a related field is preferred.
- Candidates with relevant teaching or child-support experience may also apply.
- Experience working with children with special educational needs, autism, ADHD, developmental or learning difficulties will be an advantage.
- Special Education / ABA / child-development training is an added advantage.
- Freshers with relevant qualifications and a genuine interest in working with children may also be considered.
- Excellent patience, empathy, and communication skills.
- Ability to work positively with parents, teachers, and other professionals.
- Malayalam and English communication skills preferred.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday – During school hours

Exact working hours will be discussed during the interview based on the child's school schedule.

Salary

₹15,000 – ₹25,000 per month, depending on qualification, experience, and working hours.
