Job Title: Specialist Dental Surgeon / MDS Consultant

Position Overview

The Dental MDS Specialist is responsible for providing expert-level, specialized clinical care in their chosen discipline (e.g., Orthodontics, Endodontics, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery). This role involves managing complex, referred dental cases, performing advanced surgeries or procedures, supervising clinical staff, and ensuring high-quality patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

- Specialized Clinical Care: Diagnose complex oral conditions and deliver advanced treatments specific to the specialization (e.g., surgical extractions, root canals, alignment, prosthetics, or pediatric treatments).
- Treatment Planning & Consultation: Develop comprehensive, multidisciplinary treatment plans and counsel patients on options, risks, and post-operative care.
- Advanced Diagnostics & Tech Use: Interpret 3D imaging, CBCT, and digital scans, and utilize modern tools like CAD/CAM, intraoral scanners, or laser dentistry.
- Clinical Leadership & Supervision: Guide general dentists (BDS), dental assistants, and hygienists; oversee sterilization and safety protocols.
- Administrative & Regulatory:



Maintain precise electronic health records, ensure compliance with health authorities (e.g., Dental Council regulations), and handle specialty referrals.

Specialty-Specific Core Focus Areas

- Orthodontics: Braces, clear aligners, and dentofacial orthopedics.
- Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics: Advanced root canals, micro-endodontics, and restorative/cosmetic procedures.
- Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery: Complex surgical extractions, facial trauma management, jaw reconstruction, and implantology.
- Prosthodontics: Full-mouth rehabilitations, crowns, bridges, dentures, and dental implants.
- Periodontics: Advanced gum treatments, periodontal surgeries, and bone grafting.
- Pedodontics: Specialized oral care, behavior management, and interceptive treatments for children.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Education: Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) + Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) in a relevant specialization from an accredited university.
- Licensure: Active registration/license with the state or national Dental Council.
- Skills: Exceptional clinical dexterity, advanced surgical/technical precision, strong diagnostic skills, patient empathy, and team leadership.
