About Hello Teacher Academy
Hello Teacher Academy is a global online tutoring academy providing high-quality, one-to-one personalized learning for students following international and Indian curricula. We are committed to helping students build strong conceptual understanding, academic confidence, and examination skills through engaging and student-focused teaching.
We are currently looking for an experienced GCSE Astronomy Tutor who has prior experience teaching the subject and can support students through one-to-one online sessions.
Role Overview
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Astronomy Tutor with proven experience teaching GCSE Astronomy. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of the subject, familiarity with the GCSE curriculum and examination requirements, and the ability to explain astronomical concepts clearly and engagingly.
Responsibilities
- Teach GCSE Astronomy through one-to-one online sessions.
- Deliver engaging and structured lessons based on the student's learning needs.
- Explain astronomical concepts, theories, observations, and phenomena clearly.
- Help students develop strong conceptual understanding and scientific reasoning.
- Support students with schoolwork, homework, assignments, revision, and exam preparation.
- Prepare students for GCSE Astronomy assessments and examinations.
- Help students develop effective examination techniques and answer-structuring skills.
- Identify learning gaps and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
- Use practical examples, diagrams, observations, and relevant resources to make Astronomy engaging.
- Track student progress and provide feedback when required.
- Create a supportive and encouraging learning environment.
Requirements Must Have
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Astronomy, Astrophysics, Physics, Space Science, or a closely related field.
- Previous experience teaching GCSE Astronomy is essential.
- Strong understanding of the GCSE Astronomy curriculum and examination requirements.
- Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
- Prior experience conducting one-to-one online classes.
- Ability to explain complex astronomical concepts in a simple and structured manner.
- Stable internet connection, laptop/desktop, webcam, headset, and a quiet teaching environment.
Preferred
- Experience teaching GCSE Astronomy for an established examination board.
- Experience preparing students specifically for GCSE Astronomy examinations.
- Familiarity with online teaching tools, digital whiteboards, simulations, and astronomy resources.
- Experience working with international students.
