We are developing a new collection of contemporary fold-flat paper lampshades and decorative paper products in India, initially for the Indian market and later for export.

We are looking for an experienced Industrial Designer / Product Designer / Origami Designer / Paper Engineer who can develop real physical products from concept to prototype and manufacturing.

This is not a graphic-design or 3D-rendering-only job.

Project Scope

The main lampshades should ideally:

- Ship flat
- Open into a secure 3D form
- Be attractive and original
- Be easy to manufacture repeatedly
- Use commercially available paper/materials
- Require reasonable assembly/folding time

We prefer a contemporary style combining.

We do not want copies of existing brands or ordinary cheap paper lanterns.

Required Experience

Strong preference for candidates experienced in:

- Industrial/product design
- Origami or folding structures
- Paper engineering
- Foldable / collapsible products
- Lampshades or home décor
- Physical prototyping
- Design for manufacturing (DFM)
- CAD/vector production files

The designer must be comfortable making and testing physical prototypes, not only computer renders.

Deliverables

For the selected designs we expect:

- Initial concepts/sketches




- Physical prototype development
- Cutting / scoring / folding patterns
- Final dimensions
- Material recommendations
- Flat-pack dimensions
- Assembly method
- Production-ready vector/CAD files
- Manufacturing notes
- Editable/source files
