Position: Senior Secondary Economics Teacher
Classes: XI–XII
Curriculum: CBSE
Employment Type: Full-time
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Secondary Economics Teacher to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will have strong subject knowledge, excellent classroom management skills, and the ability to make Economics engaging, relevant, and accessible to senior secondary students.
The teacher will be responsible for delivering the CBSE Economics curriculum for Classes XI and XII, preparing students for Board examinations, and fostering analytical, critical-thinking, and application-based skills.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
- Plan and deliver effective, engaging, and well-structured Economics lessons for Classes XI and XII.
- Follow the CBSE curriculum, syllabus, learning outcomes, and examination guidelines.
- Develop students' conceptual understanding of Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Indian Economic Development, and related areas as applicable.
- Use interactive, experiential, and application-based teaching methodologies.
- Relate economic concepts to current affairs, business developments, government policies, and real-world situations.
- Encourage critical thinking, analytical reasoning, discussion, and independent learning.
- Use appropriate digital tools, presentations, simulations, case studies, and other technology-enabled resources.
Assessment & Academic Support
- Prepare assignments, worksheets, projects, question papers, quizzes, and other assessments aligned with CBSE standards.
- Conduct regular formative and summative assessments and maintain accurate academic records.
- Analyse student performance and implement appropriate remedial and enrichment strategies.
- Prepare students thoroughly for CBSE Board examinations, including competency-based, case-based, and application-oriented questions.
- Provide individual academic support and mentoring to students who require additional assistance.
- Guide students in Economics projects and practical/project-based components as prescribed by CBSE.
Classroom Management & Student Development
- Create a positive, inclusive, disciplined, and intellectually stimulating classroom environment.
- Maintain high academic and behavioural standards.
- Build positive relationships with students and support their academic and personal development.
- Identify learning gaps and provide timely intervention.
- Encourage students to participate in academic competitions, seminars, quizzes, debates, and Economics-related activities.
Collaboration & School Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with the Economics/Commerce/Humanities department and other faculty members.
- Participate in lesson planning, departmental meetings, academic reviews, and professional development programmes.
- Maintain regular communication with parents regarding student progress when required.
- Contribute to school events, clubs, assemblies, workshops, exhibitions, and other co-curricular activities.
- Maintain student records, lesson plans, assessment documentation,
and other academic reports.
- Comply with school policies, CBSE requirements, and institutional academic standards.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Economics from a recognised university.
- B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Strong knowledge of the CBSE Senior Secondary Economics curriculum.
- Candidates with relevant CBSE school teaching experience will be preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong command of English.
Experience
- 5+ years of teaching experience, preferably in a reputed CBSE school.
- Experience teaching Classes XI and XII is essential.
- Proven track record of preparing students for CBSE Board examinations will be an advantage.

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
