About the Role
AI5 Academy is looking for an experienced professional to train learners in our Applied AI for AML, KYC & Financial Crime Investigation program.
This is not a conventional AML/KYC teaching role.
We are looking for someone who understands real-world AML, KYC, CDD, EDD, transaction monitoring and financial crime operations, and can also demonstrate how modern AI tools are being used across these workflows.
The trainer should be able to conduct practical, instructor-led sessions using realistic cases, datasets, compliance workflows, investigation scenarios and AI-assisted processes.

The trainer should be comfortable teaching professionals, banking and finance learners, compliance teams, analysts and people preparing for AML/KYC roles.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct live instructor-led sessions on AML, KYC and financial crime investigation.
- Teach practical applications of AI in KYC, CDD, EDD and customer risk assessment.
- Demonstrate AI-assisted transaction monitoring and alert investigation.
- Teach anomaly detection and suspicious activity identification.
- Explain practical adverse media screening and open-source research workflows.
- Demonstrate entity resolution, relationship mapping and network-based investigations.
- Teach the use of GenAI and LLMs for AML/KYC workflows.
- Demonstrate RAG-based compliance and investigation knowledge systems.
- Train learners on AI-assisted STR/SAR investigation and drafting workflows.
- Explain how AI can support case summarisation, investigation notes and compliance reporting.
- Demonstrate responsible use of agentic AI in AML and compliance operations.
- Explain model risk, explainability, human review and governance requirements.
- Create practical assignments, labs, case studies and investigation exercises.
- Review learner projects and provide actionable feedback.
- Help periodically update course material based on current AML regulations, financial crime trends and AI adoption.

Data & Investigation Tools
Experience with some of the following would be preferred:
- Excel / Advanced Excel
- SQL
- Power BI or similar BI tools

- Financial crime monitoring platforms

- Open-source intelligence tools
- Data visualisation tools
Python is useful but is not mandatory if the candidate has strong AML/KYC subject knowledge and can confidently demonstrate practical AI workflows.

Candidates with experience in organisations such as banks, fintech companies, consulting firms, financial institutions, global capability centres, AML operations teams or RegTech firms will be preferred.
Exposure to international AML/KYC frameworks will be an advantage.
Training Skills
The candidate should be able to:
- Explain technical and compliance concepts in simple language.
- Teach using live examples rather than only PowerPoint presentations.
- Demonstrate workflows on screen.
- Create realistic AML/KYC case scenarios.
- Engage learners through practical exercises.
- Relate AI concepts directly to banking and compliance operations.
- Explain both the capability and limitations of AI systems.
- Guide learners through end-to-end investigation scenarios.

Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include:
- Graduate / Postgraduate degree in Finance, Banking, Commerce, Economics, Technology, Data, Law or related areas.
- Professional certifications such as CAMS, CFCS, ICA, ACAMS or similar will be an advantage.
- Relevant industry experience will carry more weight than academic qualifications alone.
What We Are Specifically Looking For
We are not looking for a purely theoretical faculty member.
The ideal trainer should be someone who can combine:
AML/KYC Domain Knowledge + Real Industry Experience + Modern AI Tools + Practical Training Ability
Candidates who have worked on live AML investigations, KYC operations, transaction monitoring, sanctions, fraud, compliance transformation, RegTech or financial crime analytics will receive preference.
