About the role

Expert Resourcing is hiring an experienced Structural Steel Fabrication Fitter for an established structural steel and heavy-engineering employer in Sahibabad, Ghaziabad. You will independently read fabrication drawings, identify members and connections, and complete accurate fit-up of complex steel assemblies before final welding.

What you will do

- Read structural fabrication drawings, general arrangement drawings and detailed shop drawings.

- Mark, measure and fit structural steel members to the specified dimensions.

- Assemble beams, columns, trusses, frames, bracings and complex structures.

- Fit base plates, gusset plates, cleats, stiffeners, brackets and connection plates.

- Establish angles, levels, diagonals, centre lines, hole positions and member orientation accurately.

- Carry out cutting, grinding, drilling and edge preparation.

- Complete fit-up and tack welding before final welding.

- Check alignment, squareness, dimensions and tolerances before handover.

- Coordinate with welders, supervisors and quality-control personnel.

- Reduce fabrication errors, rework and material waste while following workshop safety procedures.

You may be a good fit if you

- Have 4–5 years of hands-on structural steel fabrication and fitting experience.





- Can independently interpret complex fabrication drawings and translate them into accurate fit-up work.

- Can use a measuring tape, steel rule, try square, spirit level, bevel or protractor, marking tools, grinder, gas-cutting equipment and other fabrication tools.

- Have worked on heavy structural fabrication, industrial structures, pre-engineered buildings, trusses or similar multi-member assemblies.

- Can work accurately with minimal supervision and take responsibility for fit-up quality.

Practical selection criterion

The most important selection criterion is drawing interpretation. You should be able to review a complex fabrication drawing, identify the members and connections, mark the components, establish the required dimensions and complete the structural fit-up accurately with minimal supervision.

- Salary: ₹3,00,000–₹6,00,000 per year, based on skill and experience

Pay: ₹300,000.00 - ₹600,000.00 per year
