Role Overview

Job Purpose

The PPC Executive will be responsible for planning, scheduling and monitoring production activities at the Tarapur Manufacturing Units The role will ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machinery and raw materials while achieving production targets, maintaining inventory levels and ensuring timely completion of customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities1. Production Planning

- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly production plans based on customer requirements, sales orders, inventory levels and plant capacity.
- Prepare product-wise and batch-wise production schedules.
- Coordinate with Production to ensure timely execution of the production plan.
- Monitor actual production against planned production and highlight deviations.
- Reschedule production plans based on urgent requirements, breakdowns, raw-material availability or changes in priorities.

2. Material Planning

- Prepare raw-material requirements based on production plans and Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Coordinate with Purchase and Stores for timely availability of raw materials, packaging materials and other production inputs.
- Monitor material shortages and communicate critical requirements to concerned departments.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels to avoid production stoppages as well as excess inventory.

3. Batch & Process Planning

- Prepare batch-wise production plans considering reactor/machine capacity, product specifications and production sequence.
- Plan production sequence to optimize equipment utilization and minimize changeover/cleaning time.
- Coordinate with Production and QC for batch release and subsequent production activities.
- Track batch status from raw-material availability through production and QC clearance.

4. Production Monitoring & MIS





- Monitor daily production against the approved production plan.
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly PPC reports.
- Track:
- Planned vs. Actual Production
- Production Achievement %
- Machine/Plant Utilization
- Batch Completion
- Material Availability
- Production Pending
- Rejection / Rework
- Production Delays
- Maintain accurate PPC records and provide regular MIS to management.

5. Coordination with Departments

- Coordinate closely with Production, Stores, Purchase, Quality Control, Sales, Dispatch, Maintenance and Finance.
- Follow up with Purchase and Stores for pending raw materials.
- Coordinate with QC for timely testing and release of finished batches.
- Coordinate with Dispatch for finished-goods availability and customer delivery requirements.
- Communicate production priorities and changes to relevant stakeholders.

6. Inventory Control

- Monitor raw-material, WIP and finished-goods inventory.
- Identify slow-moving, excess and shortage materials.
- Support inventory optimization and reduction of production-related inventory holding.
- Ensure production planning is aligned with available storage and plant capacity.

7. ERP / System Management

- Enter and maintain production planning and related data in the ERP system.
- Maintain production orders, material requirements, batch information and production status.
- Ensure timely and accurate updating of PPC data in the ERP.
- Generate reports and MIS from ERP for management review.
- Coordinate with ERP/IT team for PPC-related system issues and improvements.

8. Production Performance Improvement

- Identify bottlenecks affecting production schedules.
- Analyze reasons for production delays and prepare corrective action inputs.
- Support initiatives for improving plant capacity utilization, productivity and production efficiency.
- Maintain planning discipline and ensure adherence to approved production schedules.

9. Documentation & Compliance

- Maintain PPC-related records, production plans, schedules and reports.




- Follow company SOPs, quality requirements, safety procedures and applicable ISO systems.
- Ensure proper documentation and traceability of production planning activities.
- Support internal and external audits wherever required.

Education:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Operations, Production, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Diploma / degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Production or related technical fields will be preferred.

Experience:

- 4 –10 years of experience in PPC / Production Planning / Material Planning, preferably in:
- Polymer industry
- Synthetic resin manufacturing
- Chemical manufacturing
- Paints & coatings
- Adhesives
- Specialty chemicals
- Batch-process manufacturing

Preferred Industry Knowledge:

- Understanding of batch manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of raw-material planning and inventory management.
- Understanding of production capacity and machine utilization.
- Exposure to BOM, production orders and batch planning.
- Experience with ERP systems will be preferred.
- Knowledge of Excel and preparation of PPC MIS.
