Position Overview:

We are looking for a Intern/Junior Hydrogeologist to join our multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in watershed-level hydrogeological investigations, groundwater sustainability assessments, rainwater harvesting system design, and GIS-based modeling. The role involves field studies, data analysis, technical reporting, and developing water conservation strategies for industrial applications.

Key Responsibilities:

- Hydrogeological Investigations:
- Conduct field-based hydrogeological assessments including geological mapping, well inventory surveys, and aquifer characterization.
- Analyze lithological logs, pumping test data, and groundwater quality for site-specific evaluations.
- Watershed & Geospatial Analysis:
- Delineate micro-watersheds using Survey of India toposheets, DEMs, and remote sensing data.
- Generate LULC (Land Use Land Cover) and drainage maps using GIS tools (ArcGIS/QGIS).
- Estimate water balance components including runoff, infiltration, and evapotranspiration.
- Rainwater Harvesting & Water Conservation:
- Design and evaluate rainwater harvesting (RWH) and roof water harvesting systems.
- Assess site-specific recharge potential and recommend appropriate artificial recharge structures (percolation tanks, recharge wells, check dams, etc.).
- Data Analysis & Modeling:
- Work with meteorological datasets (rainfall, temperature, evaporation) and IMD records for hydrological analysis.
- Perform hydrogeological modeling and water budgeting using tools such as MODFLOW, HEC-HMS, or similar.




- Sustainability and Industry Support:
- Support industries in developing groundwater sustainability plans aligned with regulatory frameworks and corporate water stewardship goals.
- Evaluate basin-level water stress, river basin behavior, paleo-channel studies, and inter-basin transfer impacts.
- Conduct groundwater risk assessments and contribute to CSR-linked water management initiatives.
- Reporting & Communication:
- Prepare detailed technical reports, proposals, and presentations.
- Effectively communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

- MSc in Applied Geology or Hydrogeology with a strong focus on groundwater.
- 2-3 years of relevant work experience in hydrogeological and watershed studies.
- Proficiency in GIS and remote sensing applications for water resource mapping.
- Hands-on experience in field investigations and RWH structure design.
- Positive understanding of geological formations, aquifer systems, and groundwater recharge techniques.
- Familiarity with modeling software and hydrological computation tools.
- Strong technical writing and communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams.
- Willingness to travel to project sites across India and Southeast Asia.

Preferred Skills (Added Advantage):

- Experience in CSR-based water conservation programs.
- Knowledge of groundwater regulations, CGWA guidelines, and sustainability frameworks (e.g., AWS Standard, Water Risk Filter).
- Exposure to stakeholder engagement and training programs on water management
