JOB DESCRIPTION – PLANT OPERATOR

Job Summary

We are looking for a responsible and technically capable Plant Operator to operate and monitor water and wastewater treatment plants such as STP, ETP, WTP, RO, UF and related treatment systems. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth plant operation, maintaining process parameters, conducting routine inspections, and reporting operational issues.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate and monitor STP, ETP, WTP, RO, UF and other water treatment equipment.
- Operate pumps, motors, blowers, valves, dosing systems, filters, clarifiers and control panels.
- Monitor plant operating parameters such as pH, TDS, flow, pressure, tank levels and chemical dosing.
- Conduct regular plant rounds and inspect equipment for abnormal noise, vibration, leakage or malfunction.
- Collect water/effluent samples and perform basic testing as required.
- Maintain daily plant operation logbooks, readings, checklists and shift reports.
- Carry out chemical preparation and dosing as per approved SOP and instructions.
- Operate filter backwash systems and support sludge handling/dewatering activities.
- Identify operational problems and immediately report major issues to the O&M; Incharge/Engineer.
- Assist the maintenance team during preventive and breakdown maintenance activities.
- Maintain proper housekeeping and cleanliness of the plant area.
- Ensure availability of chemicals, consumables and other operational materials.




- Follow company SOPs, safety procedures and environmental requirements.
- Use appropriate PPE while operating equipment and handling chemicals.
- Support commissioning, trial runs and performance monitoring whenever required.
- Coordinate with the client/site team and report daily operational status to the reporting manager.
- Perform any other O&M-related; duties assigned by the management.

Required Skills

- Basic knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes.
- Knowledge of pumps, motors, blowers, valves and chemical dosing systems.
- Ability to understand plant flow diagrams and operating procedures.
- Basic knowledge of water quality testing and process parameters.
- Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
- Positive discipline, punctuality and responsibility.
- Ability to work independently at client/project sites.
- Willingness to work in shifts or extended hours when required.

Qualification & Experience

- Qualification: ITI / Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Environmental or related discipline.
- Experience: 0–3 years in STP / ETP / WTP / RO / UF operations preferred.
- Freshers with relevant technical knowledge may also be considered.

Pay: From ₹16,000.00 per month
