Core Responsibilities

· Installation & Commissioning: Oversee the physical setup of Air Pollution Control systems at industrial sites. This includes supervising riggers and technicians to ensure equipment is aligned and installed according to mechanical drawings.

· Preventive & Breakdown Maintenance: Perform scheduled inspections of rotating parts (fans, blowers, motors) and static components (filters, ductwork). Respond to emergency equipment failures to minimize plant downtime.

· Troubleshooting & Performance Testing: Use diagnostic tools to identify mechanical issues like leaks, airflow imbalances, or excessive vibration. Conduct performance tests (e.g., pressure drop across filters) to ensure the system is clearing contaminants as designed.

· Regulatory Compliance & Auditing: Monitor emission levels to ensure the plant stays within limits set by regional boards (such as the Central Pollution Control Board in India). Participate in site audits and inspections.

· Technical Documentation: Maintain detailed service logs, repair reports,



and maintenance schedules to ensure traceability for both the client and regulatory bodies.

· Customer Training: Educate plant operators on proper equipment usage, routine safety checks, and basic troubleshooting techniques.

Typical Qualifications

· Education: A Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is the standard requirement.

· Experience: Usually 2 to 5+ years of hands-on experience in industrial maintenance or field service, specifically with heavy machinery or filtration systems.

· Technical Skills:

o Proficiency in reading mechanical blueprints and CAD layouts.

o Strong knowledge of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and airflow dynamics.
