Job Summary

We are looking for talented and creative Jewellery CAD Designers proficient in Rhino software to join our growing organisation.

As a Jewellery CAD Designer, you will be responsible for converting jewellery concepts, sketches and design requirements into accurate 3D CAD models using Rhinoceros (Rhino) software.

The role requires a strong understanding of jewellery design, proportions, dimensions, detailing and manufacturing feasibility. The selected candidates will work closely with the Design, CAD, Production, Casting and Manufacturing teams to develop jewellery designs that are both aesthetically appealing and technically production-ready.

Key Responsibilities

>Create detailed 3D jewellery models using Rhino software based on sketches, references, concepts and design briefs.

>Develop CAD designs for various jewellery categories including:

Gold Bangles

Rings

Mangalsutras

Pendants

Bracelets

Earrings

Chains

Other jewellery components

>Convert 2D concepts and hand sketches into accurate 3D jewellery models.

>Develop intricate jewellery patterns, motifs, textures and design elements.

>Maintain appropriate proportions, symmetry and dimensions as per design requirements.

>Ensure CAD models are technically accurate and production-ready.

>Understand jewellery manufacturing requirements and design accordingly.

>Consider factors such as metal thickness, weight, dimensions, stone settings, joints, flexibility and structural strength.

>Ensure designs are suitable for the subsequent manufacturing, casting and finishing processes.

>Make modifications to designs based on production feasibility and technical requirements.

>Prepare models according to the company’s CAD and manufacturing standards.

>Develop new and innovative jewellery designs based on market trends and company requirements.

>Modify existing designs to create new variations and collections.





>Work on design detailing while maintaining the original design intent.

>Assist the design team in developing commercially viable jewellery collections.

>Create designs that balance aesthetics, functionality, manufacturability and target weight.

>Coordinate with the Jewellery Design, CAD, Production, Casting and Quality teams.

>Understand design briefs and convert them into accurate CAD outputs.

>Incorporate feedback and make necessary revisions within timelines.

>Communicate technical challenges or design limitations to the relevant teams.

>Ensure smooth handover of approved CAD designs for production.

>Maintain high accuracy and attention to detail in every CAD model.

>Complete assigned CAD designs within specified timelines.

>Maintain organised CAD files and follow internal file-management standards.

>Review models before submission to ensure there are no design or technical errors.

>Handle multiple design assignments while maintaining quality and productivity.

Requirements

>Proficiency in Rhinoceros (Rhino) jewellery CAD software.

>Strong understanding of 3D modelling and jewellery designing.

>Good knowledge of jewellery proportions, shapes, symmetry and detailing.

>Ability to interpret sketches, images and design references.

>Strong attention to detail.

>Good understanding of jewellery manufacturing processes is preferred.

>Ability to create accurate and technically feasible jewellery models.

>Creative mindset with an interest in developing new jewellery designs.

>Ability to work effectively within a team.

>Good communication and coordination skills.

>Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple assignments.





>Freshers with a Jewellery CAD course/certification or relevant educational background are encouraged to apply.

>Strong expertise in jewellery CAD designing using Rhino.

>Ability to independently handle complex jewellery designs.

>Strong understanding of production feasibility and technical detailing.

>Experience working on commercial jewellery collections.

>Ability to guide junior CAD designers and support the team when required.

Candidates with knowledge or experience in the following will be preferred:

Rhino 3D.

Jewellery-specific Rhino modelling.

Advanced surface modelling.

Complex jewellery modelling.

Jewellery manufacturing and casting.

Stone-setting requirements.

Weight optimisation.

Jewellery production techniques.

Understanding of gold jewellery construction.

Experience working with commercial jewellery designs.

Knowledge of additional jewellery CAD/rendering software will be an added advantage.
