1. Job Purpose
Responsible for managing day-to-day store and inventory operations for the Composite Division, including material receipt, inspection coordination, storage, inventory control, material issuance and documentation, ensuring timely availability of materials for production.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Material Inward & Receiving
- Receive raw materials, consumables and bought-out items against Purchase Orders.
- Verify quantity, item description, PO details and packaging condition.
- Coordinate with Quality for incoming inspection and approval.
- Prepare/maintain GRN and inward documentation.
- Ensure proper identification and tagging of received materials.
B. Composite Raw Material Handling
Handle and maintain inventory of materials such as:
- Resin – Polyester / Epoxy / Vinyl Ester
- Fiberglass / Glass Mat / Woven Roving
- Gelcoat, pigments and fillers
- Catalysts, hardeners, accelerators and additives
- Adhesives and release agents
- Core materials
- Other composite manufacturing consumables
Ensure materials are stored as per their specified storage conditions, shelf life and safety requirements.
C. Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate stock records for all materials.
- Monitor minimum/maximum stock levels and highlight shortages.
- Ensure proper FIFO/FEFO practices wherever applicable.
- Track shelf-life-sensitive materials and identify near-expiry stock.
- Conduct regular physical stock verification and cycle counts.
- Investigate and report stock discrepancies.
D. Material Issue & Production Support
- Issue materials to Production against authorized material requisitions.
- Ensure correct quantity and material are issued as per BOM/production requirement.
- Maintain proper material issue records.
- Coordinate with Production, PPC and Purchase for daily material requirements.
- Ensure uninterrupted material availability for production.
E. Storage & 5S
- Maintain systematic storage and proper identification of materials.
- Ensure appropriate segregation of different materials and chemicals.
- Maintain 5S, housekeeping and visual management in the stores.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of hazardous/chemical materials as per company safety requirements.
- Prevent material damage, contamination and unnecessary wastage.
F. ERP & Documentation
- Make system entries for GRN, material issue, stock transfer and other transactions.
- Maintain accurate inventory data in ERP.
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly stock reports.
- Maintain records of inward, outward, rejected, returned and surplus materials.
- Ensure documentation is complete and traceable.
G. Coordination & Control
- Coordinate with Purchase regarding pending deliveries.
- Coordinate with Quality for material inspection/rejection.
- Coordinate with Production & PPC for material requirements.
- Coordinate with Finance for documentation and invoice-related discrepancies.
- Manage material returns and rejected material as per defined procedures.
3. Required Skills
- Good knowledge of Stores & Inventory Management.
- Understanding of manufacturing stores operations.
- Knowledge of ERP/SAP inventory transactions.
- Good working knowledge of MS Excel.
- Understanding of FIFO/FEFO and stock reconciliation.
- Good documentation and record-keeping skills.
- Strong coordination and follow-up skills.
- Basic knowledge of chemical/composite material handling and safety will be an advantage.
4. Candidate Profile
- Experience: 2–6 years in Stores/Inventory in a manufacturing setting.
- Experience in Composite / FRP / GRP / Automotive / Polymer / Chemical / Industrial Manufacturing will be preferred.
- Qualification: Diploma / Graduate in any relevant discipline.
- Should be comfortable working in a plant/store environment.
- Candidates with experience handling resin, fiberglass and chemical-based raw materials will be preferred.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹23,000.00 per month
