Job Summary

Delhi Dialogues News is looking for a skilled and creative Cameraman / Camera Operator to join our news and digital media team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for capturing high-quality video footage for news reports, interviews, events, field assignments, and digital content.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate professional cameras and related video equipment for news coverage and field assignments.
- Shoot interviews, press conferences, political events, public events, breaking news, and ground reports.
- Select appropriate camera angles, framing, composition, lighting, and camera movements.
- Work closely with reporters, producers, and editors to ensure effective visual storytelling.
- Set up and operate cameras, tripods, microphones, lighting, and other production equipment.
- Ensure high-quality, properly exposed, and reliable footage suitable for television and digital platforms.
- Respond quickly to breaking-news assignments and work effectively under tight deadlines.
- Transfer, organize, label, and maintain recorded footage and media files.
- Assist with basic video editing when required.
- Maintain and safely handle cameras, lenses, batteries, memory cards, lights, and other equipment.
- Follow newsroom standards, professional ethics, and safety procedures while covering assignments.

Requirements

- 1–3 years of experience as a cameraman, camera operator, videographer, or in a similar role; freshers with strong practical skills may also be considered.




- Good knowledge of professional video cameras, lenses, lighting, audio equipment, and accessories.
- Understanding of framing, composition, exposure, white balance, focus, and basic cinematography.
- Ability to shoot both indoor and outdoor assignments in challenging conditions.
- Basic knowledge of video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve is an advantage.
- Strong visual sense and attention to detail.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and during breaking-news situations.
- Willingness to travel within Delhi-NCR and occasionally outside Delhi for assignments.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a newsroom team.

Preferred Skills

- Experience in news media, digital journalism, television, or documentary production.
- Knowledge of DSLR/mirrorless and professional broadcast cameras.
- Experience shooting mobile journalism (MoJo) content.
- Familiarity with social-media video formats and digital-first news production.
- Ability to work independently and make quick decisions in the field.
