About NewsBreak24
NewsBreak24 is an independent digital news publication based in Jaipur, Rajasthan, covering major developments across India and around the world across web, social media and video platforms.
We are expanding our video newsroom and are looking for a Video Editor & YouTube Producer who can turn breaking news, original reporting and editorial stories into compelling digital video.
Responsibilities
- Edit vertical news Reels and YouTube Shorts.
- Produce professional NewsBreak24-branded short-form videos from raw footage, interviews, agency/licensed footage and approved source material.
- Edit long-form YouTube videos, interviews and explainers.
- Produce daily/regular NewsBreak24 news bulletins.
- Edit anchor/presenter footage into polished news packages.
- Add headlines, subtitles, lower thirds, source credits, graphics and appropriate transitions.
- Perform basic colour correction, audio cleanup and sound mixing.
- Create simple motion graphics and news graphics.
- Convert horizontal footage to platform-appropriate vertical formats without obscuring important subjects.
- Prepare thumbnails for YouTube.
- Assist with titles, descriptions, chapters and other YouTube publishing elements.
- Upload and publish/schedule videos on the NewsBreak24 YouTube channel.
- Prepare platform-specific versions for Instagram, Facebook and YouTube.
- Organise footage, project files and NewsBreak24's video archive.
- Work closely with the Editor, website desk and social team during breaking news.
- Follow NewsBreak24's editorial, copyright, AI and attribution policies.
- Never manipulate news footage in a way that changes its factual meaning.
Required Skills
- Strong Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve skills.
- Experience editing Reels/Shorts.
- Ability to edit longer YouTube videos.
- Robust understanding of pacing and visual storytelling.
- Basic After Effects/motion-graphics ability preferred.
- Photoshop/Canva thumbnail skills.
- Good understanding of audio.
- Strong attention to spelling and factual details in on-screen text.
- Awareness of Indian and international news.
- Ability to work quickly during breaking news.
- Understanding of YouTube publishing is strongly preferred.
- Previous news/media experience is desirable, but excellent digital-video candidates from other backgrounds can also apply.
