Psychology Teacher & Student Counsellor – Classes XI & XII

Job Summary:
We are looking for a qualified, compassionate, and dedicated Psychology Teacher & Student Counsellor to teach Classes XI and XII and provide appropriate counselling and emotional support to students. The candidate should have strong subject knowledge, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to understand and address students' academic, emotional, and behavioural concerns.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching Responsibilities:

- Teach Psychology for Classes XI and XII as per the prescribed curriculum.
- Prepare and deliver engaging and well-structured lesson plans.
- Explain psychological concepts, theories, and applications using real-life examples and case studies.
- Conduct tests, assignments, assessments, revision sessions, and practical activities.
- Prepare Class XII students effectively for board examinations.
- Monitor students' academic progress and provide appropriate academic guidance.
- Use interactive teaching methods, activities, and digital resources to enhance learning.

Student Counselling Responsibilities:

- Provide individual and group counselling to students when required.
- Support students in dealing with academic stress, examination anxiety, peer relationships, emotional concerns, and behavioural issues.
- Identify students who may require additional emotional or academic support and provide appropriate guidance.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle student concerns with sensitivity and professionalism.
- Develop a positive and supportive relationship with students.




- Conduct awareness sessions on topics such as stress management, emotional well-being, study skills, self-confidence, relationships, and adolescent development.
- Work closely with teachers, parents, and school management when appropriate to support students' overall well-being.
- Maintain appropriate counselling records and follow school policies and procedures.
- Refer students to qualified mental-health professionals when a concern is beyond the scope of school counselling.

Requirements:

- Master's Degree in Psychology or a relevant field.
- B.Ed. qualification is preferred/required for the teaching role.
- A qualification/certification in Counselling Psychology / School Counselling will be an added advantage.
- Previous experience teaching Psychology for Classes XI and XII is preferred.
- Experience in student counselling, preferably in a school environment, will be an advantage.
- Good knowledge of the CBSE Psychology curriculum and examination pattern.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom-management skills.
- Compassionate, approachable, patient, and non-judgmental attitude.
- Ability to maintain professional confidentiality while dealing with sensitive student concerns.

A responsible and empathetic professional who can effectively perform both roles as a Psychology Teacher and Student Counsellor, supporting students in their academic development as well as their emotional and personal well-being.
