Job Title: Senior Accountant
As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial records, timely reporting, and compliance with applicable statutory requirements. You will work closely with internal teams, management, vendors, customers, and auditors to ensure smooth and efficient financial operations.
Responsibilities:
- Accounts Receivable
- Manage and monitor customer invoices, receipts, and outstanding payments.
- Follow up on overdue receivables and resolve payment-related discrepancies.
- Perform customer ledger reconciliation and ensure accurate accounting records.
- Accounts Payable
- Review and process vendor invoices after verifying accuracy and approvals.
- Prepare payment schedules and coordinate timely vendor payments.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Bank Reconciliation
- Perform regular bank reconciliations and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded.
- Identify and resolve differences between bank statements and accounting records.
- Monitor bank transactions, receipts, payments, and other financial activities.
- General Ledger & Accounting
- Maintain and review general ledger accounts and ensure proper accounting classification.
- Prepare and post journal entries, provisions, accruals, and adjustments.
- Ensure supporting documents are maintained for all accounting transactions.
- Review trial balance and identify accounting discrepancies.
- Expense Management
- Review employee and company expense claims for accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Process expense reimbursements and maintain proper supporting documentation.
- Monitor and control expenses as per approved budgets.
- Financial Reporting
- Prepare and review monthly,
quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Assist in preparation of Profit & Loss Account, Balance Sheet, and other management reports.
- Analyze financial data and provide relevant information to management for decision-making.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Statutory Compliance
- Ensure timely compliance with applicable statutory requirements.
- Handle GST, TDS, Professional Tax (PT), Provident Fund (PF), and ESIC related accounting and compliance activities.
- Assist in preparation and filing of statutory returns and payments within due dates.
- Maintain proper records and supporting documents for statutory compliance.
- Coordinate with consultants and authorities, whenever required.
- Audit Support
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors during audits.
- Prepare audit schedules, reconciliations, supporting documents, and required reports.
- Address audit queries and assist in implementing corrective actions.
- MIS & Management Reporting
- Prepare accounting-related MIS reports and financial summaries for management.
- Provide analysis of receivables, payables, expenses, cash flow, and other financial information.
- Ensure reports are accurate and submitted within defined timelines.
- Accounting Software & Process Improvement
- Use accounting software and financial tools effectively for day-to-day accounting activities.
- Ensure accurate data entry and proper maintenance of financial records.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting efficiency.
- Administrative & Team Support
- Maintain proper filing and documentation of accounting records.
- Coordinate with sales, purchase, HR, operations, and other departments for accounting-related matters.
- Guide junior accounting team members and review their work where required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- MBA Finance / MMS
- Prior experience in accounting or finance roles is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Tally).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
