Position: Emergency Room (ER) In-Charge
Department: Emergency / Casualty
Hospital: Women & Children Hospital
Reporting To: Nursing Superintendent / Medical Superintendent / Hospital Administrator
Experience: Minimum 6+ Years of Relevant Experience

1. Job Summary

The ER In-Charge is responsible for the overall coordination, supervision and efficient functioning of the Emergency Room. The position ensures timely, protected and quality emergency care for women, newborns and pediatric patients, while coordinating with doctors, nursing staff, diagnostic services, pharmacy, laboratory, OT, ICU/NICU/PICU and other departments.

The ER In-Charge is responsible for maintaining emergency preparedness, staff deployment, patient flow, documentation, infection control, equipment readiness and compliance with hospital policies and clinical protocols.

2. Key Roles & ResponsibilitiesA. Emergency Room Management

- Oversee the day-to-day functioning of the Emergency Room.
- Ensure smooth and timely management of all emergency cases.




- Prioritize patients based on clinical urgency and hospital triage protocols.
- Ensure immediate attention to critical and life-threatening cases.
- Coordinate patient movement between ER, OT, ICU, NICU, PICU, wards and other departments.
- Ensure proper handover of patients between emergency and respective clinical teams.

B. Women & Pediatric Emergency Care

- Ensure appropriate emergency care for pediatric and women patients.
- Coordinate emergency management of neonatal, pediatric, obstetric and gynecological cases as applicable.
- Ensure availability of appropriate pediatric and neonatal emergency equipment.
- Coordinate with Pediatricians, Neonatologists, Obstetricians, Gynecologists, Anesthetists and other specialists.
- Ensure special attention to pediatric medication dosing, patient identification and safety protocols.

Pay: From ₹35,000.00 per month
