Tamim Chartered Accountant
India
Location: Kozhikode, Kerala
Experience: 6–10 years, including 2+ years leading a team
Team: ~8–10 members: seniors and juniors across accounts closure, financial reporting and data analysis (office, hybrid and WFH)
Employment type: Full time
ROLE OVERVIEW
The leadership seat of our Kerala delivery centre. You will own end-to-end back-office delivery for UAE client engagements across two dimensions that this role deliberately combines: finance (book closures, financial statements, IFRS reporting, UAE VAT/CT support) and data analytics (dashboards, variance and performance analysis, data operations). Equally important, you will lead the shift in how the work is done — moving the team from manual drafting to an automation-first model built on AI-assisted report builders, Power BI and standardised analysis packs. This role is for someone who is credible on accounting review, fluent with data tools,
and energised by running and upskilling a team through change.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Delivery Leadership (Finance)
– Own the closing calendar across all clients: month-end and year-end closures delivered on time, to checklist, audit-ready.
– Act as final back-office review point on financial statements, schedules, reconciliations, inventory valuation and provisions before Dubai review.
– Set and enforce quality standards — review notes, working-paper discipline, rework tracking — and resolve escalations on accounting treatment.
– Oversee UAE VAT and Corporate Tax workings prepared by the team.
Delivery Leadership (Data & Analytics)
– Own the analytics output of the centre: monthly analysis packs, variance commentary, working-capital and margin analysis, KPI dashboards.
– Raise the bar from “numbers prepared” to “insight delivered” — every recurring report should answer why, not just what.
– Direct the data operations layer: data cleaning standards, trial-balance imports,
grouping/mapping in report-builder tools, exception handling.
– Build and govern Power BI reporting for clients and for internal delivery visibility.
Automation & AI Transformation
– Lead adoption of the firm’s AI-assisted report builders and automation tools across the team; be their most fluent user, not just their sponsor.
– Identify which recurring deliverables can be automated, standardised or templated, and drive that conversion with the firm’s IT/automation team.
– Embed AI assistants into team workflows under firm policy (enterprise tools, mandatory human review) and coach the team on using them well.
Team Management & Development
– Plan capacity and allocate work across seniors and juniors, including WFH members;
– balance closing peaks with analysis work.
– Run the team cadence: daily/weekly standups, status trackers, and a periodic update rhythm to Dubai without being chased.
– Train and develop the team — accounting treatment, analysis methods and tools; build bench strength so delivery is not person-dependent.
– Support hiring, onboarding and performance feedback for the centre.
Coordination with Dubai
– Act as the single point of accountability to the Dubai manager and front-office leads for back-office delivery.
– Report client closing status, major issues, risk areas, delays and team performance proactively and in writing.
– Translate front-office and client expectations into clear work specifications for the team.
TOOLS YOU WILL WORK WITH
Advanced Excel (including Power Query), Power BI, in-house AI-assisted report builders (trial- balance-to-financial-statements), ERPNext, Zoho Workplace, and enterprise AI assistants used under firm policy. Exposure to SQL or Python is a plus. Hands-on fluency with data tools and AI assistants is a core requirement of this role.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
– CA / ACCA / CMA qualified, or M.Com / MBA (Finance) with demonstrably equivalent depth in financial reporting.
– 6–10 years across accounting, financial reporting and analysis, with at least 2 years leading a team; outsourced/multi-client delivery experience strongly preferred.
– Proven analytics track record: dashboards, MIS or performance analysis you built or ran — not only accounting review.
– IFRS working knowledge; UAE VAT/Corporate Tax exposure is an advantage (training provided).
– Advanced Excel and working Power BI required; hands-on use of AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot) in real work required.
– Strong written and spoken English — the role runs a remote interface with Dubai daily.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
– Dual fluency: credible reviewing an IFRS balance sheet and equally comfortable inside a dataset or dashboard.
– Team leadership: sets cadence, gives direct feedback, develops people, holds deadlines without constant supervision from Dubai.
– Change leadership: comfortable redesigning how work is done as automation removes manual steps, and bringing a team along.
– Ownership and proactive communication — surfaces problems early with options, not surprises.
– Structured, documented way of working; builds systems and playbooks rather than depending on memory.
Pay: ₹70,000.00 - ₹100,000.00 per month
Benefits:
- Flexible schedule
- Health insurance
- Paid sick time
- Provident Fund
Work Location: In person
