Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator (PostgreSQL) to manage, monitor, optimize, and support production database environments. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, SQL, Linux, high availability, replication, backup & recovery, and performance tuning.

The role involves ensuring the availability, stability, performance, security, and recoverability of business-critical databases in enterprise production environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Administer and support PostgreSQL databases in production environments.
- Monitor database health, availability, capacity, and performance.
- Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Configure and manage replication and High Availability (HA) environments.
- Implement and maintain database backup and recovery strategies.
- Perform database restoration and recovery testing.
- Troubleshoot database-related incidents and participate in RCA for production issues.
- Monitor database logs, alerts, resource utilization, and system health.
- Manage database upgrades, patching, configuration changes, and maintenance activities.




- Work with Linux systems for database administration and troubleshooting.
- Develop and maintain scripts using Bash and/or Python for database automation and operational tasks.
- Support disaster recovery and business continuity requirements.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, application, and NOC teams to resolve production issues.
- Follow incident, change, and problem-management processes in a 24/7 production workplace.

Required Technical Skills

- Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL.
- Advanced SQL skills.
- Good knowledge of Linux administration and troubleshooting.
- Experience with database replication and High Availability.
- Strong understanding of backup and recovery.
- Experience in database performance tuning and optimization.
- Knowledge of database monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with Bash and/or Python scripting.
- Understanding of networking concepts relevant to database connectivity.
- Experience supporting production/business-critical database environments.

Pay: ₹700,000.00 - ₹1,100,000.00 per year
