About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Used Car Inspection Engineer to inspect pre-owned vehicles and evaluate their overall mechanical, electrical, structural, and cosmetic condition. The candidate will be responsible for providing accurate inspection reports to support vehicle purchase and valuation decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive physical inspections of used cars.

Check the vehicle’s engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, steering, AC, electrical systems, and other mechanical components.

Inspect the exterior and interior for dents, scratches, repainting, modifications, and other damages.

Identify signs of accidental, flood, fire, or structural damage.

Check tyre condition, battery, lights, fluids, and other essential components.

Conduct a test drive to identify mechanical or performance-related issues.

Verify the vehicle’s overall condition against available documents and vehicle details.

Prepare accurate and detailed inspection reports, including photographs and observations.

Estimate the approximate repair/reconditioning requirements and cost.

Coordinate with the procurement, sales,



and operations teams regarding vehicle condition and valuation.

Ensure inspections are completed within the assigned timeline and company standards.

Maintain accurate inspection records and follow company inspection processes.

Requirements

Diploma/B.Tech in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering preferred.

Minimum 3 years of experience in automobile inspection, used-car evaluation, workshop, dealership, or automotive service.

Good knowledge of vehicle mechanics and automobile components.

Ability to identify accident repairs, repainting, structural damage, and mechanical issues.

Valuable communication and reporting skills.

Ability to use mobile applications/software for digital inspection reports.

Willingness to travel to different locations for vehicle inspections.

A valid driving licence is preferred.
