Role description

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Appian Architect to lead the architecture, governance, scalability, and technical strategy of our Appian platform. The ideal candidate will provide architectural leadership, establish development standards, drive enterprise integrations, and ensure optimal platform performance while mentoring delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Define and govern enterprise-wide Appian architecture, solution design standards, and development best practices.
- Design scalable Appian applications leveraging Appian Records, Data Fabric, Process Models, and SAIL.
- Lead integrations between Appian and enterprise systems using REST, SOAP, APIs, web services, and middleware platforms.
- Drive platform performance optimization, application health checks, and architecture reviews.
- Manage platform upgrades, environment strategy, security, deployment, and release governance.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to translate business requirements into scalable solutions.
- Conduct code reviews, architecture reviews, and mentor Appian developers and leads.
- Champion Appian Center of Excellence (CoE) practices and platform governance.

Must-Have Skills

Appian Expertise

- 8+ years of hands-on Appian development and architecture experience
- Appian Lead Architect Certification (Level 3) or equivalent advanced Appian certification
- Deep expertise in:

- Process Modeling

- Appian Web APIs
- Process Reports & Dashboards
- Appian Sites and Portals





Architecture & Design

- Enterprise-scale solution architecture experience
- Strong knowledge of Appian architecture patterns, governance frameworks, and reusable component design
- Experience establishing development standards, guardrails, and review processes

Integration Experience

- Extensive experience integrating Appian with enterprise applications using:
- REST APIs
- SOAP Services
- JSON/XML
- Web Services
- OAuth/JWT Authentication

- Experience with real-time and asynchronous integrations

Data & Database Skills

- Strong expertise in:
- SQL
- Relational Databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL)
- Data Modeling
- Database Performance Optimization

Performance & Platform Management

- Proven experience in:
- Appian Health Check Analysis
- Performance Tuning
- Application Scalability
- Workplace Management
- Upgrade Planning & Execution
- Production Support & Troubleshooting

Leadership

- Experience leading Appian development teams
- Conducting technical design reviews and code reviews
- Mentoring architects and developers
