Profile : Sr. Costing Engineer /Costing Engineer

Location : Chakan, Pune

Roles & Responsibilities

Job Summary: We are seeking a Product Costing Engineer with expertise in Sheet Metal, Fabrication, Machined Parts, Jig & MIG Welding, CNC, and VMC processes. The candidate will be responsible for estimating product costs, optimizing manufacturing expenses, and collaborating with suppliers and internal teams to achieve cost-eAective production.

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Estimation & Analysis:  New part development, cost estimates on material, labour, overhead, process, and tooling costs.

 Evaluate vendor quotations and assess cost feasibility for sheet metal, fabrication, machining, and welding.

 Identify cost reduction opportunities through alternative materials, process optimization, and value engineering. Product Costing & Budgeting:  Prepare detailed product cost sheets and maintain cost databases.

 Analyze and compare actual vs. estimated costs, identifying key cost drivers.

 Monitor raw material price fluctuations and their impact on product costing.

 Support RFQ (Request for Quotation) processes by gathering and analyzing supplier cost data. Manufacturing Process & Optimization:





 Collaborate with production, design, and procurement teams to optimize cost eAective manufacturing processes.

 Recommend process improvements to reduce costs without compromising quality and eAiciency.  Work with vendors to improve cost efficiency in CNC, VMC, Wire cutting, sheet metal fabrication, and welding operations. Supplier & Vendor Coordination:

 Work closely with suppliers to understand their costing structure and negotiate better pricing.

 Conduct supplier cost audits to validate price breakdowns and cost elements.

 Develop alternate sourcing strategies to ensure cost competitiveness.

Key Requirements:

 Education: Bachelor’s Degree in DME, Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

 Experience: Minimum 3-5 years in product costing, cost estimation, and vendor cost analysis in the manufacturing or automotive industry.  Familiarity with MS Excel, ERP systems, cost estimation tools.
