About PulseSense Dynamics

Ready to build hardware and software that directly combats climate change At PulseSense Dynamics, we are accelerating the global energy transition by deploying next-generation IoT, smart sensing, and edge intelligence to optimize energy assets worldwide.

Formed through the strategic acquisition of WindESCo's industry-proven IP and technology assets, PulseSense Dynamics combines the agility and energy of an ambitious tech innovator with the foundation of solutions already optimizing wind farms across 19 countries for over 41 major customers. Headquartered in Raleigh, NC, we offer early-career engineers a high-impact, collaborative environment where your code and hardware designs directly power real-world projects and maximize green energy output.

The Opportunity: Systems Engineer Level 1

We are looking for a passionate, dynamic Systems Engineer (Level 1) with approximately 2 years of hands-on experience to join our multi-disciplinary engineering team. In this role, you will bridge the physical and digital worlds—designing, developing, and deploying real-time data acquisition hardware, IoT edge gateways, and firmware/software integrations.

You will play an active role in writing production-grade C code for embedded systems/microcontrollers and Python for data pipelines, testing automation, and edge application logic. If you thrive on solving complex engineering systems, working directly with physical hardware, and seeing your work deployed in extreme environments, this is the launchpad for your career!

Key Responsibilities

· C Programming: Develop, test, and maintain efficient,

embedded system modules in C for remote sensors and IoT hardware.

· Python Development: Build Python applications, data processing pipelines, system automation routines, and algorithms for field diagnostics and edge computation.

· Systems Integration & DAQ: Assist in the specification, design, hardware integration, and bench-testing of remote data acquisition (DAQ) units and sensor arrays.

· IoT & Communication Protocols: Configure and test industrial communication protocols (HTTPS, Modbus, CAN, OPC UA) for robust data transmission.

· Algorithm & Edge Deployment: Collaborate with data science and domain experts to integrate failure detection and predictive analytics algorithms. Develop cutting edge engineering first principle-based machine learning models to improve system performance and accuracy.

· Linux & Platform Engineering: Work with Linux-based embedded operating systems, deployment containers (Docker), and cloud connectivity interfaces (GCP/AWS).

· Root Cause Analysis & Testing: Conduct structured root cause analyses (RCA) on field issues, document diagnostic findings, and engineer reliable solutions.

· Technical Reporting & Docs: Draft technical documentation, hardware testing protocols, and field deployment guides for engineering and field operations teams.

Qualifications & Skills

Minimum Qualifications:

· Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering,

Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, or related technical field.

· Experience: 2 - 4 years of hands-on experience in embedded systems, IoT hardware integration, or systems engineering (internship/co-op experience included).

· Programming Languages: Strong working knowledge of Python (for scripting, automation, data handling) AND C (for embedded/low-level programming).

· Hardware & Sensors: Practical experience with sensors, data acquisition systems, electrical schematics, and microcontrollers/SBCs.

· Operating Systems: Familiarity with Linux environment, basic shell scripting, and standard development tools (Git).

· Soft Skills: Energetic problem-solver with strong diagnostic skills and clear technical written/verbal communication.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

· Domain Interest: Experience with rotating machinery and condition monitoring systems.

· Advanced Tech Stack: Exposure to industrial protocols (OPC UA, Modbus), MQTT, Docker containers, and Cloud infrastructure.

· Signal Processing: Basic understanding of fault diagnostic, vibration monitoring, or signal processing.

What We Offer

· Competitive Compensation: Competitive salary with equity/stock option plans to share in our collective success.

· Work-Life Balance: Generous paid time off (PTO) and company holidays.

· Growth & Mentorship: Direct mentorship from seasoned industry experts and rapid career advancement opportunities in a high-growth sector.

· Vibrant Culture: A team-oriented, progressive workplace where innovation, learning failures and fresh ideas are celebrated.
