Senior License Specialist

The Senior License Specialist is a SME in one or more complex publishers responsible for ensuring accurate license positions, supporting audit defense and advising on cost optimization. Also mentors junior specialists.

Key responsibilities

Own license position accuracy and compliance for assigned publisher portfolio.

Interpret complex licensing agreements, amendments and use-right documents while translating terms into operational rules within the SAM tools.

Lead internal readiness activities.

Identify and quantify optimization opportunities like harvesting, downgrade rights and change in models.

Develop and maintain licensing policy documentation as well as internal guidance notes.





Coach and review the work of Junior License Specialists.

Required Qualifications

5+ years in software licensing or IT asset management with deep expertise in at least one major publisher.

Proven experience in supporting or managing vendor audits end-to-end.

Robust analytical skills and are able to work with large datasets to build and validate ELPs.

Solid understanding of licensing metrics like, per-core, per-processor, named user, concurrent, subscription and sub-capacity.

Excellent written communication for policy documentation and audit correspondence.
