Skills and Competencies8–12 years of experience in strategy, consulting, or commercial/customer analytics, with demonstrated experience presenting to and influencing senior leadershipDeep understanding of the global commercial banking industry — including Commercial Lending, Anti-Financial Crime, Capital Markets and Enterprise Risk — with working knowledge of customer personas and journeys across these areasStrong external orientation — able to bring market trends, competitive intelligence, and forward-looking (Horizon-3) thinking into the team's strategic agendaHigh degree of judgment, maturity, and executive presence; acts as a trusted strategic thought partner to senior leaders on high-impact, ambiguous questions — framing choices, trade-offs,
and implications rather than simply presenting analysis; this role engages regularly with Senior Stakeholders and handles confidential strategic and business informationProven ability to build investment cases and portfolio reviews that hold up under senior leadership scrutiny — this is a decision-support role, not a reporting roleComfortable operating with ambiguity and providing senior back-up/ coverage across the Commercial Strategy agenda as priorities shiftStrong independent research capability — market spotlights, news and trend analysis, competitor benchmarking, and case studies — to inform strategic recommendations. Quick learner across new domains and data sourcesTechnical proficiencies: MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, BI tools, and use of AI for automation are a minimum expectation; proven ability to work with sparse and multi-source data (quantitative and qualitative) to build data-based decision frameworks and connect disparate insights into a coherent recommendationEducationMBA or postgraduate degree from a well-regarded institution(Tier 1/Tier 2) institution strongly preferred; Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field requiredResponsibilitiesDrive strategy formulation, execution monitoring and Horizon-3 initiatives for Banking, providing SLT decision support across portfolio reviews and investment casesDrive strategy formulation for Horizon-3 initiatives, bringing external market perspective and emerging trends into the team's forward-looking agendaOwn portfolio reviews and investment cases that directly support Senior Leadership Team decision-makingOwn execution monitoring, process governance,
and program management for specific strategic initiatives — including product mapping/taxonomy and pricing and packaging discipline — partnering with central strategy and product/domain strategy teams where required, and driving regular review cadencesIncorporate regional perspectives into strategic recommendations and Horizon-3 thinking, closing the loop between execution learnings and strategy formulationProvide senior back-up and coverage across the Commercial Strategy agenda, scaling the team's insight capacityEngage directly with SLT and cross-functional senior stakeholders, handling confidential strategic and business information with judgment and discretionMentor and provide strategic direction to team members.Represent the Commercial Strategy function in cross-functional forums, bringing a customer- and market-informed point of view to broader business decisionsAbout the teamThe Banking Commercial Strategy team drives strategic growth across Moody's Banking solutions through deep customer and market analytics.
