ROLE: Research Fellow- I
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE ROLE:
We are seeking a Research Fellow to support multiple projects at the Social Knowledge Lab at Plaksha University. Both projects are grounded in qualitative research that requires fieldwork observations and interviews with participants. The Research Fellow will be responsible for data collection, initial analysis, and should be comfortable with travelling independently, initiating contact with unknown participants, and conducting research on their own. Applicants must have a background in anthropology or sociology. Both projects are rooted in Science and Technology Studies (STS), and while experience in STS is not required,
the ideal candidate would have an interest in this area and be comfortable reading both theoretical and methodological STS literature.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Qualitative data collection and analysis, primarily ethnographic fieldwork that includes observations at various field sites and interviews with participants.
- Contribute to writing blogs and other social media posts to promote the work of the lab.
- Travel independently to various field sites, including extended or repeated trips (minimum travel expenses are covered), as required.
- Follow ethical protocols when conducting social science research with human participants.
EDUCATION:
- Must have a master's degree at the time of the initial start date. At least one degree (bachelor’s or master’s) in Sociology or Anthropology is required. Applicants will not be considered for this position if they do not meet this requirement.
