Job Description

The Senior Azure Platform Engineer – Managed Services is a hands-on cloud engineering role responsible for the operational stability, reliability, automation, and continuous improvement of business-critical platforms hosted on Microsoft Azure.

This role operates within a standalone Azure Cloud Managed Service model delivering Level 2 and Level 3 platform support across Production, Pre-Production, and Development environments.

The role blends deep technical engineering expertise with managed service operational discipline and requires solid AKS, Azure PaaS, Terraform, CI/CD, and observability capabilities.

The Senior Engineer collaborates closely with the Cloud Lead and acts as a technical escalation point and substitute during periods of absence.

Responsibilities
- Provide Level 2 and Level 3 operational support for Azure platform components
- Manage and support Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters and containerised workloads
- Troubleshoot and remediate platform incidents across Azure PaaS services including:
- Azure API Management




- Application Gateway & Ingress
- Azure Functions
- Azure Key Vault
- Azure Storage & Data Lake
- Azure Networking (VNet, Private Link, VPN, ExpressRoute)
- Microsoft Entra ID (Service Accounts & Managed Identities)
- Participate in 24×7 on-call rotation for Priority 1 and Priority 2 incidents
- Lead complex technical investigations and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
- Implement and review Terraform Infrastructure-as-Code changes
- Support and maintain CI/CD pipelines for platform and workload deployments
- Implement automation to reduce operational toil (runbooks, scripting, event-driven remediation)
- Perform platform upgrades, patching, and security remediation
- Liaise with Microsoft Azure support and third-party vendors for escalations
- Contribute to continuous improvement of monitoring, alerting, and observability platforms
- Work within ITIL-aligned incident, problem, change, and service request processes
