Required Qualifications

● Experience: 5+ years of core Database Administration (DBA) experience plus 3+ years

specifically focused on cloud database migrations to GCP.

● Database Expertise: Deep hands-on experience with core enterprise databases

(PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or Microsoft SQL Server).

● GCP Mastery: Hands-on experience with GCP database offerings (Cloud SQL,

AlloyDB, Cloud Spanner) and migration tools (GCP DMS etc).

● Migration Techniques: Proven track record of executing zero/low-downtime

homogeneous and heterogeneous database migrations at enterprise scale.

● Scripting & IaC: Strong proficiency in Terraform for database infrastructure

provisioning, alongside scripting skills in Python, Bash, or SQL/PL-SQL.

● Networking & Security: Solid understanding of GCP networking principles relevant to

data transfer (VPC,



Private Service Access, Interconnect, VPN, Firewall rules).

● Certifications: Google Cloud Certified Qualified Cloud Database Engineer or

Professional Cloud Architect.

Preferred Qualifications

● Experience migrating large-scale commercial engines (Oracle/SQL Server) to open-

source or cloud-native alternatives (AlloyDB/Cloud SQL PostgreSQL).

● Experience with enterprise ETL/ELT pipelines and cloud data warehouses (Google

BigQuery).

● Familiarity with containerized database workloads operating on Google Kubernetes

Engine (GKE).

● Multi-cloud migration experience (migrating databases directly from AWS or Azure into

GCP).
