ROLE: Junior Systems Engineer (Robotics Software)
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE ROLE:
Developing multi-terrain locomotion policies and planners is a long-standing problem in robotics. The project aims to develop a multi-terrain policy and planner for legged robots through a foundation AI model approach where the model will be trained to develop low-level gaits and operate autonomously in diverse irregular terrains and environments.
This role will primarily involve understanding the hardware’s SDK, working with AI development team and a senior embedded systems and ML engineer to develop hardware specific software stack for control and autonomy, and validation on real hardware. The role also involves working with the hardware team to test the robot under various conditions using the physical setup to be developed in-house and real-world testing, to understand the hardware limitations, sim-real gaps, the failure cases to report back to the AI team. The role also involves working with the robot hardware team to improve the test beds to be used for validating the AI policy.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- · Supporting the development of robot specific software stack.
- · Supporting integration of AI/ML models into a real hardware pipeline.
- · Collaborate with robotics engineers and researchers on system-level development.
- · Experiment, evaluate, and iterate to improve software’s performance in real-world settings.
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION QUALIFICATION:
- · B.Tech in computer science/electrical engineering or related fields of engineering.
- · Robust fundamentals in ROS and/or C/C++ programming.
- · Hands-on experience in building and experimenting with embedded software.

- SKILLS:
- Strong problem-solving ability and ability to work independently.
- Experience with ROS and/or C/C++ programming.
- Exposure to embedded systems programming.
- Familiarity with deploying ML models on hardware or working with integrated systems.
